Building your custom mountain style home is an exciting process, but requires expertise, time and knowledge to make your project successful. That’s why we've created our unique Total Home Solution®; the industry’s only complete Design Build approach. From creating your one-of-a-kind design through the entire construction process, we are your one point of contact and accountability. At each step along the way, our team defines every detail of your project. Before you commit to building your home, you will have the right design for you, feel completely comfortable with its cost, and enjoy the security that comes from our in-depth planning. Every step we take in our Design Build approach is designed to ensure a smooth transition into and through construction. Only when you are confident that everything is in place do you give us the approval to move forward with construction!
Phases of the Home Building Process
The Conceptual Design & Cost Feasibility phase begins with an "Initial Design Meeting." During the initial meeting, you meet your entire project team including your architect, construction manager and client representative. Together you will discuss your design vision, sketch out ideas and formally establish budget parameters.
In the weeks following your Initial Design Meeting, your Mountain Architects designer develops your Conceptual Design Drawings using the information gathered during your meeting. When your designer feels confident that your custom design matches both your vision and budget, he will formally present you with the design and corresponding turnkey estimate.
At the end of Phase 1, with your Conceptual Design Drawings and preliminary Turnkey Cost Estimate in hand, you have the option but not an obligation to move to the next phase in realizing your dream home.

Once you have approved your Conceptual Design Drawings, feel comfortable with your home’s estimated cost, and have made the decision to move forward, PrecisionCraft’s Design Build team begins the critical planning required to ensure a smooth transition into and through Construction. During the Pre-Construction Planning phase, our team will:
- Make any final refinements to your design,
- Prepare engineered construction drawings,
- Solicit competitive subcontractor bids and
- Prepare a "control estimate" which governs your project's cost, build specifications and timeline.
At the conclusion of this phase, you will be provided with specific cost information and a scheduled timeline for building your custom home. As in Phase 1, you have the option but not obligation to move forward.
With design and planning complete and with your approval, the Construction phase begins. During Construction, our Design Build team will:
- Complete site work, excavation and foundation,
- Fabricate the log & timber materials and build the structural shell on site,
- Finish construction, incorporating the home materials you’ve selected, and
- Perform a final walk through. Your home is ready for you to move in!
Throughout this phase, we will continue to manage costs and quality using your Control Estimate first developed in Phase 2.
