Log & Timber Home Building Process
At PrecisionCraft, we break the Home Building process into three critical phases: Project Feasibility (Conceptual Design & Turnkey Cost Estimation), Pre-Construction Planning and Construction.
Our Total Home Solution® was designed to guide you through each phase, from initial design through completed construction. Helping your project stay on time and on budget.
At the end of each phase, you decide when you are ready to move forward with your project.
Phase 1: Project Feasibility
Phase 1 kicks off the home building process with a Feasibility Study answering your most important question: Can I move forward with creating the home of my dreams?
We start by creating conceptual design drawings that match your lifestyle and architectural taste. As we work to design the home of your dreams, we create Categorized Turnkey Cost Estimates to ensure its estimated cost is what you are willing and able to pay.
With your Conceptual Design and Turnkey Estimate in hand, you will have the information you need to decide whether or not you can move forward with building the home of your dreams.
Phase 2: Pre-Construction Planning
During Phase2 your Mountain Architects team works to get all the pieces in place required to set your project in motion.
Mountain Architects will work with you and, if you so choose, an interior designer, to refine your home's design. With all the refining touches in place, Mountain Architects will create full engineered construction documents.
With your turnkey estimate and construction drawings complete, your project manager will perform Builder Bid Administration. This process is designed to help you make an informed decision on which builder is right for your project. We start by identifying up to 3 builders located near your build site. Each builder is asked to submit a bid estimating the cost to build your home.
The bids will be collected and Mountain Architects will present each builder's bid proposal to you along with our evaluation of each proposal's strengths and weaknesses.
The ultimate goal of Phase 2 is to help you select a builder that offers a competitive bid estimate and superior build quality.
Phase 3: Construction
With final construction documents and a quality builder in place, you are ready to begin Construction.
As your builder prepares the foundation and subfloor of your home, PrecisionCraft will fabricate the log & timber materials at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
Following the completion of fabrication, the log and timber materials will be shipped to your build site, where PrecisionCraft's own professional crew will install the log & timber structure.
Throughout the construction phase, your Mountain Architects team will conduct a series of on-site inspections and report back to you. This ensures that your home is built to your standards.
