What is a Hybrid Log & Timber Home?
A log & timber frame hybrid home is one that includes both timber framing and either handcrafted or milled logs. For example, the hybrid log & timber home to the left uses a combination of timber trusses, braces and posts with square milled log walls.
At PrecisionCraft we offer two distinct types of hybrid homes; full log & timber hybrids and Mountain Accent™ homes. Mountain Accent™ homes are conventional stick frame homes that contain timber frame or log accents, thus providing the look of a mountain style home at a lower turnkey cost.
Constructing a True Hybrid Home
Combining log and timber frame elements in one design requires technologically sophisticated engineering. In order to create a design that uses log walls in conjunction with timber framing, your log walls must be able to stand on their own. Not all companies build log walls that are capable of this kind of modification.
At PrecisionCraft, we use our exclusive Houseal Non-Settling System™ when designing our milled log homes or handcrafted log homes. This technology provides the level of engineering required to design and build structurally sound log & timber hybrid homes.
