Official Contest Rules
The Green Log Awards, Inc. [Green Log Home & Lifestyle Awards] 2008 Contest (“Contest”), is administered by Green Log Awards, Inc. (“Green Log Awards”) of 711 E. Broadway Ave, Meridian, ID 83642. The contest begins Monday, March 17, 2008 and ends 5 PM (Mountain Time) Wednesday, April 23, 2008. The Contest recognizes excellence in environmentally-sound building and home products and related services.
Section I. Eligibility
The contest is open to eligible contestants from the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Japan.
Section II: Eligible Companies
The contest is open to Companies that design, manufacture or provide services for or in support of environmentally responsible building product or services (“Green companies”) who:
Have a principal place of business in the Eligible Countries named above
Comply with these Contest Rules.
Section II: Eligible Voters
During a time-limited public voting period, the contest is open to Individuals who:
Have a principal place of residence in one of the Countries.
Comply with these Contest Rules. For entries created in collaboration with more than one eligible entrant, each entrant must comply with these Contest Rules.
Are at least 18 years old and the age of majority in their state, province, or country of residence.
Employees of Precision Craft, Mountain Architects, Green Log Awards or who work for any company nominated during the contest, including subsidiaries, resellers, advertising and promotional agencies, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the contest.

Section V. Timing of Award Dates and Deadlines
Companies which are nominated by email or mail must demonstrate their acceptance of the nomination and participation in the Contest by posting an official Nominee Emblem on their Website home page no later than the date of March 31, 2008. Standard HTML Code for the emblem along with an embedded Confirmation Link back to the Awards program pages will be provided.
A period of public voting for all nominees will be publicized by Green Log Awards and may also be publicized by the nominee. All public voting to be transacted between the dates of April 1, 2008and May 5th, 2008 unless modified by the administration in which case new dates will be posted on the Rules Website. Upon counting of the votes, the top finishers in each category will be named Finalists and a Finalist emblem will be furnished to those so awarded to replace their Nominee emblem. Environment News Service will rate the finalists. Using ENS’ rating and the public voting, we will determine the final winners. Public vote counting 40% of the vote and ENS’ rating counting 60% of the vote.
Section VI: Judging
Eligible Green Companies will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by the administrators including an expert panel of the Environment News Service. Decisions of the judges are final.
General Provisions
All federal, state, provincial, local, or other jurisdictional laws and regulations apply. This contest is void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. By entering and/or accepting prize the entrant grants permission to Green Log Awards or anyone authorized by Green Log Awards to use statements, quotes, testimonials, photographs, designs, models, software, and/or any other material(s) provided by entrant as part of the entry in the Contest, as well as entrant’s name, photograph, likeness, and, if applicable, the name of entrant’s company and affiliation, for advertising, and/or promotional purposes without any additional compensation to entrant unless prohibited by law Ownership of the underlying intellectual property of the entry remains the property of the entrant subject to Green Log Awards’ rights to reprint, display, reproduce, perform, and exhibit the entry solely for the purpose of advertising and/or promoting this Contest. By accepting nomination, participation and recognition, including trophies, materials or other mementos, winner agrees to hold Green Log Awards and its respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of said materials. Participants assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use/redemption of any program materials. Entrants agree to be bound by the CONTEST RULES and the decisions of the judges.
Green Log Awards is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the contest or in the announcement of the awards. Green Log Awards is not responsible for corrupted (during ftp transmission), lost, late, stolen, damaged, misdirected, or postage due entries. To the extent permitted by law, these terms shall be interpreted, and this contest shall be conducted, in accordance with Idaho law, without giving effect to choice of law provisions. All disputes concerning these terms and this contest shall be adjudicated in the federal or state courts having jurisdiction over Ada County, Idaho, USA.
Green Log Awards does not accept or consider unsolicited ideas, including ideas new or improved products or technologies. Please do not send any non-public, original creative artwork, suggestions or other works as part of your entry in the Contest. If, despite our request that you not send us your ideas, you still send them, then regardless of what your submission (or any correspondence accompanying your submission) says, you agree that: (1) your ideas will automatically become the property of Green Log Awards, without compensation to you, and (2) Green Log Awards can use the ideas for any purpose and in any way, even give them to others.
