PrecisionCraft Interviewed For New Network Program

PrecisionCraft’s ability to create custom log homes has brought dreams to life across the country. For Chicago native, Jim, his lifelong desire was to own a real log home that resembled a 20th century lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. PrecisionCraft was able to harness this vision and build Jim a custom handcrafted home in 2009 that accurately mirrored his longtime dream. Log Home on Television

This Jackson Hole home, with robust hand-peeled timbers, soaring ceilings and massive window walls, recently caught the attention of a production company scouting for a brand new network.  The new network, Destination America, under Discovery, focuses on the people, places and stories of the United States and was launched on Memorial Day 2012.

The production company was searching for a home with masculine appeal and ‘killer’ features for a new show that will focus on different subjects from a man’s point of view. This masculine touch is very present in Jim’s log home as he was the one who picked out the furnishings—antler chandeliers, leather and cowhide furniture and ornate Western-influenced wood sculptures were among his décor.

“When we were contacted by the production company looking for spectacular log homes to feature on a new program, it was a very exciting opportunity because we knew Jim’s house definitely fit their criteria for “killer log homes” said Marketing Manager, Stephanie Johnson.

Mountain Architect and lead designer for Jim’s project, Tim Brock has just returned from the home’s location where he was interviewed by the production crew, who were there filming the house.

“The film crew was there all day to take shots of the home and talked to both Jim and me. You could tell Jim was really excited to share his dream with the world and it was great to see the design come together so well” said Tim.

The film shoot took place on Monday, August 6th and both Jim and the production team were very satisfied with how it turned out.

“Log homes are such a niche market; there are not a lot of opportunities to get national television exposure. We are very proud the network chose one of our homes to feature” said Stephanie.
