As a small town Wyoming grocer with a love for the outdoors and the pristine beauty of the state, Kip and his family had researched and planned on building an impressive timber frame home at the base of their mountain property for years. After looking around at different wood home designs, it was the prominent northwestern style of PrecisionCraft’s Washington Harbor floor plan that initially caught his eye.
Once he decided he had found the right company to work with, Kip began working with PrecisionCraft’s design team to create a home that fit his family’s needs and lifestyle. During the design process, they decided the diverse layout and large-scale elements of the popular western style Crested Butte floor plan was more to their liking.
Keeping the essence of the original layout of the Crested Butte design, Kip decided to expand his total living space to include a shop behind the garage as well as a guest suite located above it. Wanting more room for vehicles and toys, his designer, Tim Brock expanded the 2-car design to include a third bay. A pathway was also designed to lead from the garage to a series of covered porches along the backside of the home for outdoor enjoyment.
Now, after years of planning, Kip’s project is fully underway. The home’s timber skeleton was installed earlier this month by PrecisionCraft, and this Wyoming timber home is scheduled to ready for move-in next summer.
Stay tuned for more photos of Kip’s family home progression, coming this fall.
