An Oregon Log Home’s Journey Toward Sustainable Living — a New Inspired Living Story from PrecisionCraft Log and Timber Homes

Mark and Crystal’s log home was the first of its kind to be certified Platinum by the LEED for Homes program. The couple’s ski cabin was inspired by their love for winter sports and a commitment to building a sustainable living space. PrecisionCraft’s latest Inspired Living story tells of this couple’s journey to build a custom log home that is both luxurious and green.

Sustainable Log Home Retreat

Renowned for extraordinary Mountain Style designs, PrecisionCraft Log and Timber Homes and its design firm, M.T.N Design have always striven toward customer satisfaction. PrecisionCraft presents yet another Inspired Living story, this one about an Oregon couple and their custom log home retreat resting at the base of Mt. Hood.

For Mark and Crystal, building a third home where they could enjoy their favorite winter activities, was a dream their whole family would benefit from. Wanting to build a home that was both a log home and a sustainable home, the Oregon couple teamed up with M.T.N Design and PrecisionCraft Log and Timber Homes to create their winter getaway that would go on to become the first log home to receive a LEED Platinum rating.

LEED, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a framework for builders and homeowners that identifies green designs to develop high-performance homes. This 3,600 square foot Oregon log home was built to meet environmental and performance goals while retaining the beauty and functionality of a custom mountain getaway.
