August's Featured Project
The ability to have a custom-designed home is one of the primary reasons our clients choose to work with PrecisionCraft and M.T.N Architects. August's featured project is a great example of how this process works. Read the project highlights below to see how this Illinois family was able to achieve a design that matched their vision, location and budget. See more photos of this home on Facebook and watch for updates coming soon.
- A Distinct Vision in Mind
When the Illinois couple came to PrecisionCraft, they had a distinct vision-- from a desire for mountain style design to what rooms they wanted to include in their layout. Working with M.T.N Architects they came up with a design that matched their specifications as well as their lifestyle and lot. Our popular Crested Butte concept is where they began.
- Modified Crested Butte Design
As the design process progressed, their designer recognized much of what the couple was looking for and directed them to our Crested Butte plan. They immediately saw the vision for their home take shape. With the help of M.T.N's degreed architects, it was not hard to modify the plan to meet their needs - like keeping features such as the octagonal stone turret staircase and opting out of the log walls the original design concept depicted.
- Adding Unique Spaces
While the Crested Butte was a great starting place, the couple had some specific spaces they wanted to add to the layout. At their designer's suggestion, the couple decided to include an unfinished basement that will eventually house a bar, game room, in-law suite and more storage space. By doing this, they were able to include these unique spaces without increasing their overall footprint, while taking advantage of their lot's slope at the same time.
