July's Featured Project
PrecisionCraft homes are being built all over, including the frontier state of Alaska. We continue our summer showcase series with this custom timber home, currently under construction. Below are some highlights of how this amazing project has gone so far. Check us out on Facebook to see more photos of this home as it progresses.
- Choosing the Chugach Mountain Range of Alaska
Desiring a second home which would be conducive to their mountain lifestyle and love for skiing, the couple found the rugged beauty of Mount Alyeska in the Chugach range to be the perfect location for their timber frame home.
- Turning their Vision into Reality
Now inspired by the alpine resort town of Alyeska, the couple sought to build a mountain style home which would match their unique location and vision. After looking at homes from Sun Valley to Vail they still couldn't find exactly what they wanted. That's when the couple decided to entrust their vision to M.T.N Architects, Precision Craft's design team. Working closely with their designer the couple was able to get the precise look and feel they were seeking.
- Building Through the Alaskan Winter
The construction of this custom timber frame home began the end of November and continued through the winter. Even with record snow falls, 100 mph winds, and power outages, the diligence of the builder, careful planning, and a structured timeline provided by PrecisionCraft's project management team kept the home on schedule.
