What is a Turnkey Cost Estimate?
|
Turnkey cost refers to the total cost to build your log home or timber home. The term turnkey originated with the idea of the homeowner “turning the key” in the front door and walking into their completed home.
As part of our custom design service, Mountain Architects will provide you with a categorized turnkey cost estimate for your timber or log home, along with the conceptual design drawings which include floor plans, elevations and color renderings.
Our categorized turnkey cost estimates are based on national and regional cost averages, as provided to us by RS Means, an independent national company that tracks detailed construction costs. Why Provide a Turnkey Estimate? We provide a turnkey estimate at the beginning of the design process to make sure that the design you want is within your budget.
If the original estimate does not fall within your budget, your designer will review your plan and suggest alterations to one or more of the design factors affecting the overall cost of your home.
Suggestions may include: reducing the size of your plan, eliminating complex aspects of the design or reducing the density of log and timber materials.
Our goal is to ensure that you get a design that you love, at an estimated cost you are willing to pay. What is Included in Your Estimate? Our turnkey cost estimates contemplate all materials and labor included in the design and construction of the home, from foundation excavation to completion, including the log & timber materials.
The turnkey cost estimates do not include land cost or land & build site improvements, such as roads, sewers, utility lines, etc.
