About Timber Frame HomesWhat is a Timber Frame Home?A timber frame home is traditionally a house in which the structure of the home is supported using timber frame beam joinery instead of conventional stick framing. Joinery includes not only wall structure but also 2nd floor joists, trusses and roof members. Our clients choose from a variety of timber frame home types. Whether they are building full timber frame structures, hybrid log and timber homes or just incorporating decorative timber frame elements, timber frame homes are growing in popularity.
What is a Timber Frame Hybrid?A timber frame hybrid home is one that includes both timber frame elements (such as trusses and braces) and conventional stick framing and / or log walls.
At PrecisionCraft we design two distinct types of hybrid homes; log & timber hybrids and Mountain Accent Homes™. Mountain Accent Homes™ are designed as conventional stick frame homes that contain timber frame elements, thus providing the look of a mountain style home at a lower turnkey cost
