The quality of a PrecisionCraft home begins long before your foundation is poured. Our log home fabrication process is built on more than 30 years of hands-on experience designing and manufacturing award-winning log and timber homes — and it shows in every hand-peeled log, every CNC-cut timber joint, and every precision-assembled timber that leaves our facility.
Unlike companies that outsource materials to third-party mills or rely on builder-supplied subcontractors, PrecisionCraft controls quality from the ground up. Our in-house M-T-N Design team works directly with our fabrication crews, meaning the specifications drawn by your architect are the same specs guiding every cut and notch at our plant. We also install the structural shell using our own crews, not subcontractors, so the people who fabricated your home are the same ones assembling it on your site. That end-to-end accountability is the foundation of every home we build.

Our handcrafted log home construction method is the most labor-intensive and the most visually dramatic approach we offer. Each log is individually hand-cut by skilled craftsmen who read the natural grain and character of the wood before selecting where each course will sit. No two handcrafted log homes look alike, because no two logs are alike. The result is a structure with an undeniable sense of craftsmanship, warmth, and authenticity that milled or engineered products simply cannot replicate.
Once our crew has assembled the full structure at our plant, fitting each log to the next and verifying every joint, the home is carefully disassembled, marked, and bundled for shipment to your building site. The same craftsmen who built it at the plant then travel to your site to reassemble it on your foundation. This pre-assembly process is a critical quality-control step that catches fit issues before they become field problems, and it’s a standard part of PrecisionCraft’s log home fabrication process across all product lines.

For clients who want the authentic character of a real log home with tighter tolerances and a cleaner, more uniform aesthetic, our milled log home fabrication process delivers both. Each log is cut to precise lengths and diameters based on computerized engineering drawings with specific notches, drilled holes, and profile selections that ensure a consistently tight, weather-resistant fit at every course.
Every log in a PrecisionCraft milled log home is barcoded at our facility and matched to a corresponding position in the assembly drawings. When your materials arrive on site, our installation crew stacks the logs in sequence. This level of precision is the direct result of our log home manufacturing approach: engineering and fabrication that work in lockstep with design. With over 30 years of experience refining this system, PrecisionCraft has reduced on-site variables to an absolute minimum, protecting both your construction schedule and your budget.

PrecisionCraft’s timber frame fabrication process combines the precision of modern CNC technology with the skill of experienced timber craftsmen, producing a structural system that’s as engineered as it is beautiful. Once your M-T-N Design team has finalized the drawings for your home, the timber structure data is sent directly to our CNC machine, which cuts each timber to exact measurements.
After CNC cutting, our craftsmen hand-fit every joint, checking each mortise and tenon for a seamless connection before the timbers are bundled for delivery. This combination of machine precision and human craftsmanship is what distinguishes a PrecisionCraft prefab timber frame home from lower-cost alternatives. You get the structural integrity and dimensional accuracy of engineered fabrication alongside the hand-finished detailing that gives timber frame homes their unmistakable character.

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are a core component of PrecisionCraft’s high-performance building envelope, and their correct installation is just as important as the quality of the panels themselves. Rather than simply shipping SIPs to your site and leaving installation entirely to your builder, PrecisionCraft provides a dedicated technical advisor who works alongside your crew throughout the SIP installation process. This on-site guidance accelerates the learning curve significantly: once your builder’s team is up to speed, SIP installation moves quickly and efficiently, with fewer errors and less wasted material.
Our SIPs are custom-cut to the specifications developed by the M-T-N Design team and are available in a range of thicknesses to meet the energy performance requirements of your climate zone — from 4-1/2″ panels suited to moderate climates up to 12-1/4″ panels for high-altitude or extreme-cold builds. This approach to SIP integration is part of what makes PrecisionCraft’s log home fabrication and construction system a genuinely turnkey solution.
