We believe that a home nestled amongst the beauty of nature should reflect its surroundings. What better way to connect your house to its environment than to build an authentic log home? Warm wood tones and organic textures not only blend into your landscape, they calm your senses and relax your soul. What kind of log home is right for you? Read below to find out.
Not all log homes are created the same. Some are cut by hand (using a chainsaw or the like) while others are milled by computer controlled machines to exact dimensions. Deciding which is right for you will depend on your budget, timeline and aesthetic preference. Handcrafted log homes use larger-diameter logs that retain their hand-scraped texture while milled log walls are uniform. Milled log walls can be cut in a variety of profiles including square and round. The dedicated labor involved in creating a handcrafted log home means that they cost more per square foot than a milled log home will. A milled log home can also be produced more quickly.handcrafted log homes milled log homes
